Terpenes commonly referred to as "Terps" are naturally occurring chemical compounds found in plants. They're responsible for the aromas & flavors of not just your favorite strains but various other plant life. Scientists has estimated that there are more than 150 different Terpenes!

The Most Common Terps!

Myrcene: The most common cannabis (and hop) terpene. Myrcene is a known sedative and analgesic and acts as a barrier penetration enhancer.

Aroma: Musky, Earthy
Found In: Mango, Thyme, Lemongrass

Limonene: A known muscle relaxant and anti-asthmatic. Found to be beneficial for gastric/metabolic issues.

Aroma: Citrus, Lemon
Found In: Citrus & Peppermint

Linalool: A known anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) and sedative.

Aroma: Floral, Sweet
Found In: More than 200 Species of (Herbs, Flowers, Citrus)

α-Pinene: A known sedative (working through GABA release), anti-asthmatic bronchodilator, and antimicrobial.

Aroma: Pine
Found In: Pine, Parsley, Basil, Rosemary

Caryophyllene: Helps to induce feelings of relaxation and wash away anxiety. Its is also the only known terpene found in cannabis that can bind to the CB2 receptor in the endocannabinoid system, which is found in the body's immune system.

Aroma: Peppery, Spicy
Found In: Pepper, Cloves, Rosemary Oregano

Humulene: Extremely similar structure to BCP and is likely a side product of BCP biosynthesis. While humulene doesn’t display any CB2 activity on its own, it is a known, powerful, systemic anti-inflammatory

Aroma: Hops, Herbal
Found In: Sage, Ginseng

Terpinolene: A known sedative and barrier penetration enhancer with a very similar structure to myrcene. It is highly antioxidant.

Aroma: Floral Herbal, Piney
Found In: Lilac, Nutmeg, Cumin, Tea Trees
