The Packaging Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently packaging cannabis products while maintaining safety, compliance, and quality standards. This role is the backbone of the production line, executing hands-on work to deliver high-quality, compliant products. The Packaging Technician Lead will perform the packaging of all finished products, including but not limited to flower, preroll, concentrate, vape and edibles based on available inventory, retail needs, and wholesale orders. Under the direction of the Packaging leadership team, the technician will operate equipment, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintain cleanliness and compliance within the production environment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Basic familiarity with cannabis, or an interest in learning about the process, is strongly preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing, food production, or cannabis facility is preferred, but not required.
• Prior experience with packaging equipment such as weighing scales is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn state and local cannabis laws and how they apply to the operations of Bountiful Farms’ products.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling requirements:
o Seldom (0-2% of the time) = assisting in pushing or pulling 250 pounds on a mobile cart/dolly
o Occasionally (2-33% of time) = 20 to 55 pounds.
o Frequently (33%-66% of time) = up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and bend for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
• Repetitive hand and arm motions for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
• Both gross and fine manipulation to operate various tools and equipment with great accuracy
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus
• Speaking or hearing - in person, by telephone, and in video meetings.
• Collaborate with team members and receive instruction from the Packaging Lead, Supervisor and Manager to meet daily and weekly production goals. Uphold state compliance and company regulations during all stages of processing and production.
• Restock workstation with inventory of materials as needed to prevent workflow disruptions, including but not limited to packaging materials, supplies, consumables, spare parts for equipment etc. and communicate with packaging department leadership if materials are not available.
